Overview

In 1982, Ms. Vorachek received her J.D., with honors, from the National Law Center, George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the Maryland and Illinois Bars and has been admitted to practice before the Maryland and Northern District of Illinois U.S. District Courts, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Fourth Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court. From 1982 until 1984, she clerked for the Honorable James R. Miller, Jr., United States District Court Judge for the District of Maryland.

Ms. Vorachek was nominated for and elected a Fellow in the prestigious College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, a professional organization honoring the leading attorneys nationwide in the practice of labor and employment law. She was featured in Leading Lawyers Magazine’s 2015 Women’s Edition as one of the ‘Top Women Lawyers in Illinois’ and as one of the ‘Top Ten Women Employment Employee Lawyers.’ She has been chosen as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in all areas of law in Illinois since 2005, and as an Illinois SuperLawyer (the top 5% of attorneys in the state) since 2008. She has received the Martindale Hubbell Preeminent Rating — the highest possible peer review rating in Legal Ability and Ethical Standards — and, in 2001, was selected for the Martindale Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers. Ms. Vorachek has also been named one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2010.

Ms. Vorachek is a former Chair and current member of the American Bar Association Section of Labor & Employment Law’s 1,000+-member Employment Rights & Responsibilities Committee. She is a former Chair, Vice Chair, Seminar Chair, and current member of the Chicago Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Committee. She is a nationally known speaker and writer on various employment-related topics. In addition to her labor and employment law practice, she is engaged for neutral workplace investigations.
